2010 going on 2011!

Two Oh One Oh was just another year with nothing outstanding, but still, a lot of things happen in 365 days. xD We are also one year closer to doomsday! Hooray!

This was my 2009 New Year's Resolutions:

1. Guess the right questions to memorize for JUEC. (In a way, I did get some unexpected As. xD)
2. Achieve decent results for PMR. (At least, I'm satisfied.)
3. Flunk JUEC and laugh at it. (E FOR CHINESE? :D)
4. Pass Grade 6 practical in April. (Got lucky!)
5. Have a PS3 sitting in a corner of my house by the end of the year. (I could have this crossed off actually because my mum did promise about the PS3.. but me and Jo felt guilty about asking because they bought a new car and a new house, plus my rather expensive school fees, so I'll make do with a bicycle.)
6. Cosplay with Jacklyn, her friend, Zhi Jean and Akatsukisunrise at Comic Fiesta 2010. (This was only fulfilled halfway because Jac and Zhi Jean lost interest~)
7. Meet up with old friends more often. (No time.. but I did go for the reunion right?)
8. Revamp my wardrobe. (No money thanks to my newfound interest in figures and cosplay.)
9. Stop being so immature and stop bitching about people so often. (I completely failed this, but then if you know me well, you'll know I'm a very nasty bitch at times. ;D)
10. Get some decent friends. (I did, but not as many as I'd hoped)
11. Pimples got sick of me and leave my face alone. (....)
12. Go for a very expensive haircut so I can finally have a fringe. (HOHOHO I HAZ FRINGE but no chance of going to some classy saloon...)
13. Survive.

This year, I...

- was a fail secratery for the librarian's club. While that sucked, at least I have something nice on my report card.
- completed even more anime series.
- made new friends in school.
- Fell deeper into the Vocaloid hype.
- Read even more books. :D God I feel so proud when I see my collection.
- Truly discovered the joy of receiving a parcel of goodies you just spent a bomb on over the internet! 8D
- Also discovered Malaysia's fail postal service.
- Started buying figures.
- Cosplayed! Fine I know I fail for a beginner but I'm reluctant to give up just yet.
- Went to Bon Odori and regretted. I bet Jac will decline any invitations of going out again xD
- Went for a concert. ADAM LAMBERT'S CONCERT. That is one big dream come true.
- Passed Grade 6 piano exam with a merit.
- Stopped reading manga.
- Started over with a new blog.
- Became active on Twitter (blame Pamela) and made new friends there.
- Defied my mother and wore contact lenses without her permissions. :X
- Downloaded one (ONE!!) K-pop song. THAT DOES NOT MEAN I LIKE K-POP.
- Got a little interested in photography.
- Made Luka sing Whataya Want From Me and Alice with Vocaloid 2. Now that is genuine Vocaloid love! :)
- Karaoke-ed for the first time with primary school friends!
- Went to Genting Highlands with friends for the first time.
- Left Kuen Cheng. HALLELUJAH.
- Moved out of Riana Green after 10 years of residence.
- Achieved what I wanted for PMR and JUEC.
- Went to Hong Kong again! Plus Macau!
- Got to experience Business Class. 8D
- Played more PSP games. Finally got my hands on Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep.

Well now that I've officially checked-out of Kuen Cheng (after a sweaty wild goose chase for all the teachers' signatures), it's definite that I'll be walking through the pearly whitegates of a different school next year. I wouldn't have changed schools if I could help it, but it's been hell being stuck in a Chinese school for three years, every day speaking a language I'm not fluent in and making a fool of myself when I can't explain myself properly under horrible circumstances. I hate the school so much and was so desperate to get out of it that once my parents gave the green light, I didn't even have to consider or ponder anything - I just wanted to be out.

And I am glad I'm going to Wesley next year. I never thought I'll be able to study in a private school where everything is conducted in English (except some of the subjects -_-). But of course like Joanne Lau said, when you randomly pop into someone else's class it'll be hard to fit in because everyone already have their own friends. I'm scared I won't be able to fit in with my class properly and just be a loner eating lunch and doing everything alone for two years because I know I'm a wallflower kind of person. Most people like my dad just tell me "Don't worry! You're sure to make friends!" but it IS possible that I may not. -emo-

But tackling this kind of situation still sounded like a better option than staying in Kuen Cheng, so transferred I did. In three more days I'll be feeling awkward and fail but whatever I guess I'll just have to bear with it.

Of course it's still a school and I'm pretty sure I won't be going "OMG I MISS SCHOOL SO MUCH WILL THE HOLIDAYS PLEASE END" and there are bound to be things I'll hate about it, but at the very least, I want to have a better experience there than Kuen Cheng. Oh and the principal is changing next year too so I hope she's better (I haven't been hearing nice things about the previous one).

Emo rants aside, here are my 2011 New Year Resolutions! I think you're supposed to do this on New Year's Day but what the heck it's the eve already okay.

1. Make new friends in my new school.
2. Be a more successful cosplayer.
3. Do my own make-up for cosplay. I seriously can't keep paying people RM30 every time.
4. Buy more clothes (because seriously, my wardrobe is so empty and I keep wearing the same old fail stuff over and over again).
5. Study harder, because my parents are making me feel so guilty.
6. Be more mature.
7. Own a scale PVC figure. AmiAmi please give some really awesome discounts!
8. Improve my appearance but don't jump into the "fa qiao" boat.

And lastly, my 2011 Cosplay Plans! I really want to do better because my first two cosplays were just facepalm material. But yell at me to give up all you want, I'm not going to just yet. Dressing up is very addictive, even if you fail at it. :P

1. Angel Beats - Shiina


This is more or less confirmed for Comic Fiesta 2011 (and maybe small events before it if I get it done in time) and I've joined a group together with Pamela who will be cosplaying as Kanade aka Tenshi and Sacred as Otonashi. xD I'm gonna have to make the weapons... shit, what a pain in the ass.

2. Toradora! - Sumire Kano


This one's confirmed. I KNOW, I know. Such a minor character. Probably very few people will recognize me (don't they always!), or they'll think I'm that slut Kawashima Ami. But I like Kano loads so I'll be recycling Shiina's wig (I've already bought the uniform btw). Will also find a megaphone or/and a kendo sword. Again, will be cosplaying together with Pamela (Aisaka Taiga duh).

3. Shiki - Shimizu Megumi


MWAHAHAHA. I have no idea why I like Megumi. She is like a crazy fangirl over Natsuno and kind of evil and mean, plus plain creepy as a shiki. But there's something I find interesting about her and kind of... like her. :X IMO she shouldn't be too hard to pull off, but it'll only be deadly accurate if I spend a bomb on schlera lens (which I won't, not in a million years) and were really good in make-up. Thick, thick make-up and fake lashes to give that creepy, doll-like look, and I suck at make-up... I may do the school uniform version for starters or one of her very fashionable outfits she wore. Pamela fell in love with Sunako on first sight (and she hasn't even watched Shiki!) so maybe I'll get a partner for this too, which will be much better because I don't think people will recognize me as Megumi either. Anyway this one will be confirmed if Pamela does Sunako or not I may postpone it or drop it (Nuuu! T_T).

And now, because I feel like it, my cosplay wish list! Aka characters I would really love to do but can't. D:

1. Tekken 5/6 - Lili


I love Lili and always spam use her in Tekken 6, and her entire outfit reeks of awesomeness. But I don't think I can cosplay her because she looks more Western-y unlike anime characters, and I'm trying to avoid characters with light-coloured hair because I don't think it matches my skin tone. AND SHE IS TOO PRETTY. T__T

2. xxxHolic - Ame-warashi


I do think I can pull of Ame-warashi, but this is on my wish list because there's no way I have enough money this year to add her to my cosplay plans. And I have no idea how to make her fancy parasol.


3. Baka To Test To Shoukanjuu - Kirishima Shouko


If you've seen my post on how I seem to like characters with long, blue or purple hair, well Shouko completes the three characters I was referring to. Like Ame-warashi, I don't have enough money for this, and I'll like to make it realistic by getting a friend to cosplay Yuji and be handcuffed to me. :P Doubt anybody's willing though.

4. Black Rock Shooter - Yomi


I like Yomi. And Dead Master (if you consider them to be different people..?). Again, she is too pretty. Plus the curls look ridiculously hard to style, and it'll be weird to not have a Mato partner. D8 So yeah, impossible.

Read above. I also dread to think how much money and art skills I need to make the sexy scythe...
